Rejectless ("Rejectless," "we," "us," or "our") provides tools to help software engineers review and improve resumes. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

If you use the Rejectless browser extension, a separate policy applies. See the Rejectless Browser Extension Privacy Policy.

1) Key Privacy Points

  • Data Protection: We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
  • Your Control: You can access, manage, and delete your account and resume data through the Service, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.
  • No Third-Party AI Training: We do not send your resume content to third-party AI providers for use in training their models, and we do not use your data for marketing or advertising.
  • Limited Access: Your resume content is accessible only to you and our systems that generate your requested feedback.
  • Service Improvement: We may use information generated through your use of the Service to evaluate and improve the accuracy and quality of our feedback systems. See Section 2E.

2) Information We Collect and Store

A. Resume Content

What it is
Your uploaded resume file and the extracted text/content from that file.
How it is stored
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Your control
You can permanently delete your resume data at any time directly from your workspace settings.

B. Service Inputs and Outputs

The Service processes:

  • Your resume text to generate personalized feedback and suggested edits
  • Your actions in the editor (such as applying rewrites or adding details) to create updated versions
  • Analysis history and feedback provided to you

This information is stored in your account to maintain your work history and allow you to access past analyses.

C. Account Information

To provide the Service, we collect:

  • Email address (for account creation and communication)
  • Account credentials (securely hashed)
  • User preferences and settings

D. Usage Data

We collect limited usage information to improve the Service:

  • Page views and feature interactions
  • Device and browser information
  • Error logs and performance metrics

This data is typically aggregated and does not include your resume content.

E. Service Improvement Data

We may retain certain information generated through your use of our feedback and editing features, including resume content, feedback interactions, and information about how users respond to suggestions. We use this information to evaluate, maintain, and improve the accuracy and quality of our feedback systems and Service.

Where appropriate, information used for these purposes may be separated from your account information. We do not use this information to create individual user profiles or for advertising purposes.

3) How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to:

  • Provide the Service: Generate resume feedback, store your work, and enable account features
  • Improve the Service: Enhance reliability, performance, and user experience, and improve the accuracy of our feedback systems using the data described in Section 2E
  • Secure the Service: Prevent abuse, monitor security threats, and enforce rate limiting
  • Communicate with you: Send service updates, respond to inquiries, and provide support

What we do NOT do:

  • Send your resume content to third-party AI providers for use in training their models
  • Share your resume content with third parties (except as described in Section 4)
  • Use your data for marketing or advertising purposes
  • Sell your personal information

4) Third-Party Service Providers

AI Processing

Rejectless uses third-party AI providers (such as language model APIs) to analyze your resume and generate feedback. When you request analysis:

  • Your resume text is transmitted securely to these providers solely to produce the requested output
  • These providers process your content only to deliver the service to us
  • We have contractual agreements prohibiting these providers from using your content for their own AI training or unrelated purposes
  • Data transmission is encrypted and temporary

Other Service Providers

We may use trusted third-party services for:

  • Cloud infrastructure and database hosting
  • Analytics (aggregated, non-resume data only)
  • Email delivery for service communications

All service providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your information to perform services on our behalf.

5) Data Security

We implement robust security measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption: All resume data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest in our database
  • Access Controls: Strict authentication and authorization controls limit data access
  • Security Monitoring: Continuous monitoring for unauthorized access or suspicious activity
  • Regular Updates: We regularly update our security practices and infrastructure
  • Secure Infrastructure: We use reputable cloud providers with enterprise-grade security

Important: While we take extensive precautions, no system is completely secure. You should also protect your account by using a strong password and keeping your credentials confidential.

6) Your Rights and Control

You can access, manage, and delete your account and resume data through the Service, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements:

Delete Your Data

  • Delete your resume and all associated analysis data at any time from your workspace
  • Deletion of resume storage (Section 2A) is permanent and cannot be undone
  • Certain information may be retained where necessary to improve the Service, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, or maintain security, as described in this Privacy Policy

Access Your Data

  • View and download your stored resume and analysis history
  • Access your account information and settings

Account Deletion

  • Delete your entire account, which will remove your resume storage and account information from our systems
  • Some data may be retained for a limited period for legal compliance, security, or Service improvement purposes, as described in this Privacy Policy

Data Portability

  • Export your resume data in standard formats

7) Cookies and Local Storage

Rejectless uses:

  • Local Storage: To cache certain data for performance and offline functionality
  • Session Cookies: For authentication and maintaining your logged-in state
  • Functional Cookies: For essential Service functionality
  • Analytics Cookies (optional): Only if you consent, to understand how the Service is used

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect Service functionality.

8) Data Retention

Active Accounts

Your resume and analysis data are retained as long as your account is active or until you delete them from your workspace.

Deleted Data

When you delete your resume or account:

  • Resume storage (Section 2A) is removed from our active systems within 30 days
  • Some backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before complete removal
  • Aggregated analytics and Service improvement data (Section 2E) may be retained for a longer period as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy

Inactive Accounts

Accounts inactive for 24 months may be subject to deletion with prior notice.

9) Children's Privacy

Rejectless is not intended for individuals under 16 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

10) International Users

Rejectless operates globally, and your information may be processed in jurisdictions different from where you reside. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We implement appropriate safeguards to protect your data regardless of where it is processed.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with specific data protection laws, you may have additional rights under applicable law.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes:

  • We will update the effective date at the top of this policy
  • We will notify you via email or through a prominent notice in the Service
  • For significant changes, we may request your consent where required by law

13) Enforcement & Abuse Prevention

We may review resume data and account activity where we reasonably believe there has been a violation of this Policy or our Terms of Service, including suspected spam, automated abuse, or other misuse of the Service.

Where appropriate, we may take steps such as:

  • Restricting or suspending the associated account
  • Removing content associated with the violation
  • Taking other action reasonably necessary to protect the Service and its users

We retain limited records related to such actions for security and legal purposes.

14) Legal Basis for Processing (for EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the EEA or UK, our legal basis for processing your information includes:

  • Contract Performance: To provide the Service you've requested
  • Legitimate Interests: To improve and secure our Service, including the Service improvement use described in Section 2E
  • Consent: Where you have provided consent (which you may withdraw at any time)
  • Legal Obligations: To comply with applicable laws
